Sledgers began with the partnership of two men: John Sledgers, an Englishman with a vision to create comfortable yet stylish footwear, and Henry Noël, a Frenchman who trained under a master shoemaker in Paris.
Together, they established Sledgers’ first shoe workshop in Vitré, France.
By 1970,
By 1970, the Noël Brothers had expanded beyond Europe, establishing a presence in the Middle Eastern market.
By 1990, Sledgers had expanded even further internationally, establishing its presence in key Asian markets and continuing its growth into a global brand, bringing its expertise in comfortable, stylish footwear to an increasingly international audience.
For over 100 years,
Sledgers has drawn inspiration from an archive of over a century of leather footwear designs — bringing classic loafers, derbies and oxfords along with reinterpreted, more contemporary silhouettes. The result is footwear that remains rooted in Sledgers’ past while feeling relevant to the way the modern gentleman lives, works, and dresses today.
